Waves of heavy rain are expected throughout the day in South Carolina as the remains of Nicole move in
good friday. Everyone, we continue to see this flood watch in effect for parts of the mountains. Until tonight, we have Nicole’s remains that keep pouring in. We have these outer bands, we’re going to get a lot more rain as we get some *** later in the morning and early afternoon. We also have a *** wind advisory. Some of those gusts could be over 40 MPH I think. For today mid-morning we will see 20-30 mph wind gusts again, these are not sustained but some of these winds will be quite strong at times overnight . You can see these winds still up *** but starting to calm down *** a bit. So, you know, the winds ease a little tonight when the rain ends. But tomorrow we will have a *** cold front coming through, the winds will be just as gusty, but you can see tomorrow that this frontal system will go through 20 maybe 25 mph winds. Tropical Storm Nicole is still heading our way. The remnants will essentially move through or just west of Greenville around three o’clock this afternoon. Our risk of severe weather is on the lower end and that’s basically for Gaffney Union Rutherford 10, although all of us, especially east of Greenville, are going to *** see a little more instability in the atmosphere as we enter this morning but you can see strong thunderstorms can’t be ruled out just about anywhere today as these outer bands come in the main concern is going to be strong thunderstorms with fairly strong winds but also a weak lead rotation or *** a small tornado cannot be ruled out the risk is low but not zero. As we look *** outside super Doppler four live you can see the core spinning here in Georgia we still get some kind of these outer bands that’s what gives us the predominant source of precipitation right now. This is going to change as we move forward in the next few hours because this core is going to get a little closer so our precipitation amounts will become a little more *** around four o’clock this morning. You can see why the widespread rain on Super Doppler live for HD you could see 8:30 this morning, nine o’clock we’re going to see those rain rates really increase as we go into 10, 11, 12 12 o’clock , that’s probably going to be where we’ll see the greatest amounts of rain. And then this core, the remaining core is right here. So as this core starts to grow, it’s going to take the bulk of the rain with it. So as we go into, you know, tonight, 78 hours, we should see me most if not all of the precipitation has gone, the winds have died down, there will still be some breeze and then tomorrow we will have this front cold by the way, it’ll be *** a few more clouds in the afternoon in the upstate *** a very isolated shower in the mountains. But then it’s really going to cool us down, before Sunday. How much rain falls from about four o’clock this morning until six or seven o’clock tonight, the atmosphere can easily push out a half inch to an inch or more. So it’s more. So what has already fallen. So here’s that cold front, pulling cold, dry air down from Canada as we head into tomorrow. Tomorrow is not going to be cold but Sunday Monday Tuesday. We have much colder air coming in by the end of the weekend and early next week. It’s going to be a little tropical outside today. We have *** a lot of humidity in the atmosphere so we have *** a lot of heat. It’s going to be *** above normal for this time of year. On your Veterans Day, tomorrow will still be slightly above normal. But as this frontal system passes, it will remove all that extra moisture, that extra moisture from the atmosphere. And we have cold, dry air coming in to freezing temperatures upstate by Monday freezing temperatures in the mountains, Sunday, Monday Tuesday and possibly Wednesday morning as well
