Boy, did I cool off quickly with my choices.
After a very good match pick record in week 8, week 9 was not so kind. I went 4-7–2 in my CBS Sports Expert picks, 9-4 straight, and 2-2-2 with my best bets as part of the Pick-Six podcast. Can I tell you how much I hate ties?
That brings my season ATS record to 62-68-6, my straight record to 77-58-1 and my best bets record to 29-22-2. It’s not terrible, but the last week has not been good.
It’s time to sweep the board, which means having good weeks in all three phases of the game.

The Falcons beat the Panthers two weeks ago in a tight game that was decided in the dying seconds. The Panthers were eliminated last week by the bengals and looked lifeless while doing so. The Falcons play close games, always fight, and it will show here. Hawks win it.

It’s been a brutal journey for the Seahawks. It’s tough for Tampa Bay, but Seattle really gets the tree. The Bucs showed something by coming back to beat the Rams last Sunday. Look for Tom Brady to keep it going. The Bucs win it.

It’s the big game of the week. It could be a problem for Kirk Cousins, who did not play well there. The Bills haven’t been great on offense in the last game and a half, but that will change here if Josh Allen can play. Look for bills to get you back on track. They win big.

The Lions are emerging from an upheaval in the Packerswhile the Bears have just suffered a tough defeat against the dolphins. Justin Fields was exceptional in this game. The Lions have defensive issues, which Fields will exploit. It will be a high score, but the Bears will win it.

Featured Game | Kansas City Chiefs vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
The Chiefs barely beat the Titans in overtime on Sunday night, as the Jaguars are coming off a win over the Raiders. The Jaguars have played a lot of close games, and this one will be no different. The Chiefs will win it, but Jacksonville will keep it close with their running offense.

Featured Game | Miami Dolphins vs. Cleveland Browns
The Browns come out of a bye with a tough trip to face a hot team. The Dolphins are rolling on offense, which will present a challenge for a Browns team that has struggled on defense. Miami’s defense isn’t playing very well either. Look for a lot of points, but Miami wins it.

The Giants just got a bye, while the Texans played last Thursday. The Giants had run defense issues, which could mean a big game for Dameon Pierce. I’m looking for Texans hanging out because of this. The Giants win it, but it’s close.

The Saints have just suffered a bad defeat against the crows. They struggled in all areas. The Steelers come out of a bye. It could be a big chance for the Steelers to get the first win for Kenny Pickett entrance. Their defense leads the way.

The Titans are back home after going 1-1 on a two-game road trip, barely losing to the Chiefs in overtime. They might have Ryan Tannehill back to quarterback, which they need. The Broncos are coming off of a bye, but it’s a tough trip to get back on. Seek out the Titans to earn it.

It’s basically a sort of elimination game. These two have been big disappointments so far. The Colts fired Frank Reich, hiring Jeff Saturday to take over, but that won’t matter. Their offense is a mess. The Raiders will win this one easily.

Featured Game | Green Bay Packers vs. Dallas Cowboys
It’s Mike McCarthy’s return to Green Bay. The Cowboys coach doesn’t make much of it, but you can bet his players will. The Packers are in shock. They are lifeless in attack and injuries have crippled them. The Cowboys are better. Dak Prescott and the gang earns it for McCarthy.

Featured Game | Los Angeles Rams vs. Arizona Cardinals
The Rams haven’t played well at all this season, but Arizona hasn’t been much better. The Rams struggled on offense, mostly because of a poor offensive line. But it’s a chance to try to turn things around. They played well against Arizona under Sean McVay and they will do it here.

Featured Game | San Francisco 49ers vs Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers are playing back-to-back road games, while the 49ers are coming off a bye. It’s a bad combination, but what’s even worse for the Chargers is their run defense against San Francisco’s run game. Christian McCaffrey going to go wild in this one. The 49ers take it.

Featured Game | Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Commanders
The Eagles are riding high and will be rested here, having played last Thursday. Commanders blew a lead last week to the Vikings. The Eagles will continue to play their attacking role, but they need to strengthen their run defense. The Eagles take it but Washington is dragging.
