Twitter workers flood the blind with bad Elon Musk reviews

Twitter employees are flooding the Blind employee forum with bad — and goodcomments on the company and its new CEO, Elon Musk.

The insider scoured the community app, where employees can anonymously write reviews and post about their workplace, to see what Twitter staff are saying about the company.

Twitter laid off thousands of employees on Friday when Elon Musk completed his $44 billion buyout of the platform. After laying off nearly half of Twitter’s workforce, Musk tweeted Friday that there was “no choice” as the company was losing more than $4 million a day.

Blind requires users to give their work email address, the company they work for, and their job title when signing up. The site does not verify employment, but asks that people use their professional email to “evaluate the professional status” of users, Blind’s website States.

Users posted a total of 953 Twitter Reviews on the site since 2020 and the company has an overall rating of 3.8 out of 5 stars. Each poster adds a star rating to its review. Some reviews have been posted the day some staff members learned massive layoffs the next morning, but the majority date from earlier.

A poster who describes himself as an engineering manager said on Wednesday: ‘A brutal decision maker at the helm. Contingency work is thrilling for thrill seekers. Pay is no longer tied to market fluctuations scholarship.”

The anonymous poster, who gave Twitter a two-star rating, added: “The absolute and rapid destruction of a compassionate and caring corporate culture makes the Tweeps feel like we’ve lost our family.”

Another user, who posted the day the company sent staff a note announcing layoffs, said “it was good until Elon took over.”

The self-proclaimed senior software developer said he “worked for Elon” like a work “pro” at the company, then put being treated like a “work bot” on a list of ” disadvantages”.

“Sense of accomplishment in completing mission-critical projects with work and sleep in the office 24/7,” the post said.

A Twitter employee tweeted a photo of a manager sleeping in the office this week after Musk took over. Musk has announced plans to launch new product features, including a verification subscription for $8.

A software engineer said Nov. 2 that before the company was taken private, it was an “amazing” place to work.

They added, “Elon’s mom is turning Musk and his March-sized ego upside down. Twitter is already chaos, but come Friday layoffs, it’s gonna be a massive dumpster fire. The man has no idea of ​​what it does and I’d bet $8 Twitter will earn’ won’t be present or relevant in a few years.”
