Celebrities including Khloe Kardashian, Reese Witherspoon and Amy Schumer are among those standing in solidarity with the Jewish people following a spike in anti-Semitic incidents in the Los Angeles area over the weekend.
Online support is in response to a message from Jessica Seinfeld on Instagram on Sunday, following comments made earlier this month by Kanye Westwho said in now-deleted social media posts earlier this month that he wanted to go “death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE.”
“If you don’t know what to say, you can just say it in your feed,” Seinfeld, 51, wrotenext to a graphic with the words “I support my Jewish friends and the Jewish people”.

Kardashian reposted the words late Sunday on his social media, while Witherspoon weighed in on Twitter.
“Anti-Semitism in all its forms is deplorable. In person. On line. No matter where. This is hate and it is unacceptable,” the Oscar-winning actress tweeted on Sunday, later sharing her words on her Instagram Stories. “I completely understand why my Jewish friends/colleagues are scared for their families. It’s a very scary time.”
A day earlier, banners were unfurled on a 405 freeway overpass that featured anti-Semitic signs and referenced West with the words “Kanye is right about the Jews.”
According to KTLAother signs of white supremacy have appeared multiple times this year on 101 freeway overpasses in Ventura County.

The activity is part of a rise in anti-Semitic vitriol.
Last year marked a record high for such incidents, according the Anti-Defamation League, with attacks on synagogues and Jewish community centers up 61%, and a total of 2,717 cases of assault, harassment and vandalism reported to the ADL.
On Sunday, Schumer urged subscribers to be careful while offering context on the list of recent incidents.
“Do you know what the Jewish community is afraid this will lead to? 1 in 2 people don’t know the holocaust happened. Stand up. #Never again“, she posted on Twitter.

Earlier this month, john legend, Lizzo, Jack Antonoff, howard stern and Michael Rapaport were among a slew of celebrities who spoke out against West’s hateful comments.

The caption didn’t mention his former friend by name but did allude to comments about Twitterwriting, “Weird how all these ‘free and independent thinkers’ always land on the same old anti-darkness and anti-Semitism.”
Meanwhile, Rapaport shared a short film Video clip on Twitter in which he criticized West’s comments, calling them “unacceptable”.
In the weeks since West’s statement, the rapper – who legally changed name in Ye last October — was abandoned by brands like Balenciaga and removed from social media platforms, including Twitter and Instagram. An agreement to acquire Parler has since been announced, with the parent company of the controversial conservative social media site saying West’s planned purchase will ensure “an irreversible ecosystem where all voices are welcome”.
