Prisco pick for NFL Week 6: Eagles outlast Cowboys to stay perfect, Bills avenge playoff heartbreak against Chiefs

Along with my choices in the restroom, my accessory choices came to life this week. I went 9-1 with my accessories Monday night on CBS Sports HQ.

So I have this for me.

Too bad my peaks were the other way, rotten and smelling of sewer backup. I went 6-9-1 ATS with my expert picks last week and 2-3 with my best bets as part of the Pick Six podcast. I also went 10-6 straight.

That brings my season bests to 33-43-4 ATS, 43-36-1 straight and 14-13 with my best bets.

Don’t worry, the king of accessories is rubbing off on my picks this week. I will take the path again. I promise.

Featured Game | Chicago Bears vs. Washington Commanders

It’s the dog game of the week. Is it really on national television? Both teams have issues, but the Bears showed signs of life on offense last week. Even so, Washington is the better team. Look for Washington’s defense to get the most out of them in this one.

Take: Commanders 21, Bears 13

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (Fox, Fubo TV)

Featured Game | Atlanta Falcons vs. San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers stayed in West Virginia this week after beating Carolina on the road. This will reduce travel wear and tear. The Falcons returned last week against the Bucs, again showing a real fight. They’ve done it in every game they’ve played and will do it again here. The Falcons are hanging out.

Take: 49ers 23, Falcons 19

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

Featured Game | Cleveland Browns vs. New England Patriots

There is a chance McJones could be back at quarterback for the Patriots. If not, it’s Bailey Zappe Again. It may not matter how the Browns defense plays. Cleveland will again use their running offense to move the football, but New England’s defense is coming off a shutout. I think the Patriots will stay close in this game – no matter who plays quarterback.

Take: Browns 27, Patriots 26

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (Fox, Fubo TV)

Featured Game | Green Bay Packers vs. New York Jets

The Packers lost to giants last week in London, but being back at home against the Jets will be a chance to get back on track. The Jets were a surprise team, but it’s a tough place. Look for the Green Bay defense, which hasn’t played as well, to do it here. The Packers win big.

Take: Packers 32, Jets 20

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

Featured Game | Indianapolis Colts vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars shut out the Colts in Week 2, so they know they can stop them. But the Jaguars have just suffered a bad loss against the Texaswhile the Colts beat Broncos last Thursday, which means they are rested. Even so, the Jaguars seem to have their number. Jacksonville wins behind its defense.

Take: Jaguars 24, Foals 17

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (Fox, Fubo TV)

Featured Game | Miami Dolphins vs. Minnesota Vikings

Dolphins should have Teddy Bridgewater back to play quarterback against his former team. It will be a big boost for the attack. The Vikings could be impacted by the heat. But I think it will come down to Minnesota’s offense against Miami’s poor defense. The Vikings prevail behind Kirk Cousins, Dalvin Cook and Justin Jefferson.

Take: Vikings 30, Dolphins 24

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

Featured Game | New Orleans Saints vs. Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals lost three tough games in the dying seconds and are playing their second consecutive road game after losing to the crows. The Saints won last week behind Taysom Hill, but can they count on it every week? The Saints’ defense was a big disappointment, so Joe Terrier will return to Louisiana and get a win because of it.

Take: Bengals 30, Saints 21

Baltimore Ravens vs. New York Giants (+5.5)

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

Featured Game | New York Giants vs. Baltimore Ravens

The Giants are 4-1 and this is another game to prove it. If they can limit the Ravens and Lamar Jackson, they can win this game. It will be former Ravens defensive coordinator Wink Martindale trying to slow him down. I think he does. The Giants will also run the ball. It’s close, but the Ravens will win late.

Take: Ravens 23, Giants 20

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (Fox, Fubo TV)

Featured Game | Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

It will be by Kenny Pickett first home start. It won’t be easy against this Tampa Bay defense. He did some good things in Buffalo, but that game ended early. This one won’t. The Bucs will pull away late, but Pickett and the offense will be better.

Take: Bucs 30, Steelers 21

Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET (Fox, Fubo TV)

Featured Game | Los Angeles Rams vs. Carolina Panthers

With the dismissal of Matt Rhule, Steve Wilks takes over as head coach of the Panthers. Sometimes that can breathe life into a team. But the Rams are just as desperate as the Panthers for a win. They are the best team, and it will appear here as Matthew Stafford finally have a good day.

Take: Rams 29, Panthers 16

Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET (Fox, Fubo TV)

Featured Game | Seattle Seahawks vs. Arizona Cardinals

The Seahawks have been fun to watch on offense as Geno Smith starts quickly. But the defense was terrible. Arizona’s offense has struggled this season, but it’s a good place to get it right. I think they will. It will be a shootout. Kyler Murray will get the best of Seattle’s defense.

Take: Cardinals 34, Seahawks 30

Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

Featured Game | Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills

It’s the game of the week, and maybe of the year. Both teams have high-flying offenses. The shootout between Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen will be a treat to watch. Will one or the other be arrested? I doubt. Hopefully it’s a classic like their January playoff game, which was won by the Chiefs in overtime. The final 13 seconds cost the Bills a chance to get to the superbowl. This time, they win late.

Take: Bills 37, Counts 31

Sunday, 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC, Fubo TV)

Featured Game | Philadelphia Eagles vs. Dallas Cowboys

It’s one of the best games of the week. The Cowboys defense against the Eagles offense will decide. The Cowboys’ pass rush is fierce, but the Eagles can run the ball to nullify it and Jalen hurts can move. It could be Dak Prescott back for Dallas, but Cooper Rush played well if not. Even so, the home Eagles are the choice.

Take: Eagles 27, Cowboys 20

Monday, 8:15 p.m. ET (ESPN, Fubo TV)

Featured Game | Los Angeles Chargers vs. Denver Broncos

The Chargers are back home after two straight road wins. They played well on offense on the road, but the defense continues to struggle. The good news is that Denver’s offense has more. Russell Wilson was bad and it hurts. It is important. Justin Herbert make the most of it.

Take: Chargers 25, Broncos 17
